Celebrating Over 40 Years!
Established in 1981 by Mamma Antonia and Papa Carmelo, Donatello’s Pizzeria has been a cornerstone of authentic Italian dining in Bedfordshire for over four decades. Our journey began with the opening of Sorrento Pizzeria in Dunstable, where Mamma Antonia’s culinary expertise in the kitchen and Carmelo’s warm hospitality at the front of house quickly earned us a reputation for quality Italian cuisine.
As our popularity grew, we expanded to include an à la carte Ristorante alongside the original pizzeria, broadening our menu to feature a diverse range of Mediterranean dishes with a focus on Italian favourites. This expansion allowed us to cater to a wider audience, offering something for everyone while staying true to our roots.
Our commitment to excellence has been recognised over the years. We were honoured with the Gold award at the Italian Pizza & Pasta Awards in 2016 and have consistently reached the finals in categories such as Pizza Championship and Pasta Chef of the Year in subsequent years. These accolades reflect our dedication to maintaining the highest standards in Italian cuisine.
Today, our menu showcases an extensive selection of both traditional and contemporary pizzas and pastas, complemented by a variety of specials designed to suit diverse tastes. With over 40 years of culinary experience, our talented chefs are adept at creating virtually any Italian dish upon request. We take pride in our ability to accommodate dietary needs, specialising in vegetarian and vegan options, and are always willing to cater to specific requirements with prior notice.
At Donatello’s Pizzeria, we continue to honour the legacy of Mamma Antonia and Papa Carmelo by providing a warm, welcoming atmosphere where guests can enjoy authentic Italian dishes made with passion and tradition. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply seeking a delightful meal, we invite you to join us and become a part of our enduring story.
